(SOUTH RIVER, ON) The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at the intersection of Ottawa Avenue and Highway 124 in the Village of South River, Ontario.
A 2008 Dodge Caravan was Southbound on Highway 124, attempting to turn left onto Ottawa Avenue when a Northbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was travelling straight through the intersection. The Silverado struck the passenger side of the minivan.
The South River/Machar Fire Department, Parry Sound Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police all responded to the collision. One passenger in the Silverado was taken to hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Caravan was charged with failure to yield right of way, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
