On February 21, 2014 at 12:26 p.m., the Guelph Police responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Gordon Street South and Lowes Road. Investigation alleged that a 2012 Dodge pick-up truck, operated by a 46-year-old Guelph resident, struck the rear end of a 2006 Dodge Caravan, operated by a 53-year-old Waterloo resident that was stopped at the intersection. Neither driver suffered injury but both vehicles had to be towed. Damage to the vehicles is estimated at approximately $15,000. The driver of the pick-up was issued a summons for careless driving. The driver of the Dodge Caravan was issued an Offence Notice for failing to wear his seat belt.
