On October 22, 2014 at 2:40 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Speedvale Avenue West at Royal Road for a collision. It is alleged that a 69-year-old Cambridge female was driving her 2013 Hyundai eastbound on Speedvale and came to a stop for a red light at Royal Road. A 22-year-old Guelph male, driving a 2003 Acura was behind the Hyundai and failed to stop striking the rear of the Hyundai. Damage is estimated at approximately $7,000.
The driver of the Hyundai was taken to the Guelph General Hospital by ambulance as a precaution. She was subsequently released with minor injuries.
