“For those drivers who continue to drive impaired on our highways, roadways and trails, I can assure you that not only are the OPP looking for you but also members of your community. Driving is a privilege but today that opportunity may be taken away from you, with only you to blame. Is the driver of the vehicle approaching you or following you impaired by alcohol or drugs? Let’s hope not but once again over the past few days, Essex County OPP has arrested two such drivers. These are unacceptable statistics. “Says Essex County OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Glenn MILLER.
If you witness an impaired driver you are asked to contact the OPP Communication Centre at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.
