(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – On the 7th of April around 8:30p.m. the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an impaired driver on Graham road in West Elgin, ON.
Police located a vehicle in the ditch near Queens Line. As a result of the investigation HERBERT TORRES-VENTURA age 49 of West Elgin stands charged with:
Driving while ability impaired by alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
Driving while licence is under suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was later released with a court date on the 25th of April in St. Thomas Criminal Court.
Around 9:00p.m. Elgin County OPP responded to a call of a suspected impaired driver on John Wise Line and Sunset road in Central Elgin, ON. As a result of the investigation Jennifer YUREK age 42 of Central Elgin stands charged with:
Care or control while impaired by alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
Fail or refuse to provide sample contrary to section 254(3) of the Criminal Code.
Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act
The accused was later released with a court date on the 9th of May in St. Thomas Criminal Court.
Both of the accused had their vehicles impounded for 7 days and their drivers licence’s suspended for 90 days.
