TWO MEN CHARGED WITH ALCOHOL RELATED OFFENCES

(ESSEX/LEAMINGTON, ON) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex County took two impaired drivers off the road over the course of the weekend.

On Saturday, January 18, 2014 at approximately 5:30 p.m., OPP officers in Leamington responded to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Wallace Street and Emerson Avenue. A Dodge pickup truck had collided with a large snow bank causing injuries to the driver, who exhibited signs of impairment.

He was arrested and then taken to hospital for treatment where he was later released with minor injuries.

Edward RODRIGUES, age 46 of Leamington, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content. He will appear in a Leamington court on February 6, 2014.

On Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2:30 a.m., OPP officers in Harrow stopped a black Chevrolet on Murdoch Street.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.

Reginald RIGG, age 21 of Harrow was charged with Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content. He will appear in a Windsor court on January 30, 2014.
