(Bancroft, Ontario) – At approximately 10:20 a.m. on Saturday the 21st of September 2013, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a break and enter on Rocky Drive in Faraday Township. Investigation revealed that two adult males operating a Dodge pickup truck had broken into a shed.
At approximately 1:20 p.m. the same day, officers observed the suspect truck with an ATV in it on Gaebel Road in the Town of Bancroft. The vehicle was stopped and two adult males were arrested and taken into custody.
Investigation revealed that the ATV had been reported stolen from the Lakefield area.
21 year old Shayne QUIRK of Bowmanville, Ontario has been charged with theft under, break and enter and possession of stolen property (over $5000). He was released from custody on a promise to appear with conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario on the 19th of November 2013.
