Two Impaired Arrests

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On April 13, 2015 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were acting on traffic complaints involving an impaired driver in the Seguin Township area. Police patrolled Highway 141 in Seguin Township and observed a red off road vehicle travelling faster than the posted speed limit. At approximately 3:49 pm police initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Brandon TAIT, 25 years of age from Seguin Township, was arrested and charged with the following:

1. Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)

2. Off Road Vehicle – speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

At approximately 4:04 pm, the same day, police initiated another traffic stop on a black truck on Highway 141 in Seguin Township. Police investigation revealed that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver Brian DENBOER, 29 years of age from Seguin Township, was arrested and charged with Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol, contrary to the (CC)

Both accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 7, 2015 to answer to their charges.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
