(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at an Old Highway 24, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Friday, January 29, 2016 at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Norfolk County OPP was called to a motor vehicle collision involving animals.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a vehicle was travelling southbound on Old Highway 24 when the vehicle collided with two (2) horses on the roadway.
As a result of the collision, one of the horse’s sustained serious injuries and for humanity reasons had to be dispatched. The driver of the motor vehicle did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.
“Police are reminding all motor vehicle operators to pay attention to their driving abilities and to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Predictable is preventable, make driving safety your priority” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
