Two Drunk Drivers Arrested After Good Samaritans Make A Call

(NORTH BAY, ON) –On November 6, 2015, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a northbound vehicle on Highway 11, Municipality of Callander, was stopped after members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received several calls of driving complaints about it.

Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged. Eric WALKER, age 43 of Richmond Hill, Ontario, was charged with the following;

Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle (Alcohol and Drug), section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);

Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, section 253(1)(b) CC;

Driver – Fail to Properly Wear Seat Belt, section 106(2) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA);

Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor, section 32 of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 17, 2015.

On November 7, 2015, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the North Bay Detachment (OPP) received a call of a suspicious person on Village Drive in Tilden Lake. A description of the person and vehicle was given to police.

The vehicle was located driving southbound on Highway 11, City of North Bay. The vehicle was stopped and, after further investigation, the driver was arrested and charged. Peter FRIEDRICH, age 56 of Gowganda, Ontario, was charged with;

Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle (Alcohol and Drug), section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);

Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, section 253(1)(b) CC;

Driving Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor, section 32 of the Liquor Licence Act.

The accused was released from police custody and is required to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 24, 2015.
