(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 12, 2016, just before 11:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a crash involving three vehicles on Highway 401 westbound near Orford Road.
An International tractor trailer was stopped in westbound traffic that was encountering severe weather, poor visibility and road conditions, when a Freightliner straight truck struck the rear of the International. Subsequently, a second Freightliner straight truck struck the rear of the Freightliner ahead of it.
As a result, the drivers of both Freightliners, 37-year-old Prosper TAGARISA and 21-year-old Tawaka MUZAMHINDO, both from London, have been charged with Careless Driving.
No injuries were reported by the occupants of the vehicles.
