2 CHARGED AT RIDE CHECK FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION
(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 7 2012, at 11:52pm, the County of Wellington Festive RIDE Team were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on Wellington Road 32 in Puslinch Township. As officers spoke to the driver of a vehicle that entered the spot check, they detected the odour of fresh marijuana coming from the vehicle. The occupants surrendered a small quantity of marijuana to police. The vehicle was subsequently searched and a larger quantity of marijuana was located and seized.
Tyler Nawash, age 23 of Saugeen First Nation has been charged with Possession of Marijuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Helena White, age 25 of Port Elgin has been charged with Possession of Marijuana over 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Both have been scheduled to appear in Guelph court on January 11, 2013 to answer to the charges.
