Two Arrested With Stolen Vehicle

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) The Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people following a traffic stop on Conway Crescent in the town of Bracebridge.

On July 22, 2016 at 12:30 pm a traffic complaint was received regarding an erratic driver on Highway 118 East, Bracebridge. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to the call and found the vehicle had been reported stolen in Hamilton two days prior. The vehicle was stopped on Conway Crescent. Following a short foot pursuit, the male driver was arrested. The female passenger remained in the vehicle and was also arrested.

After further investigation, stolen property was located in the vehicle.

The 26 year old driver Steven YEARLEY from the town of Huntsville has been charged with

CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 X 2

CC 129(a) Obstruct Peace Officer

CC 145(1)(a) Escape Lawful Custody

CC 733.1(1) Fail to Comply with Probation Order X 2

The accused was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 9, 2016.

The 32 year old passenger Ashley RATTRAY from New Tecumseth has been charged with

CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

CC 129(a) Obstruct Peace Officer

Ashley Rattray will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 16, 2016.
