(KAPUSKASING, ON) – On March 2, 2016, the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of two males fraudulently selling stereo equipment. The two males, from the province of Quebec, were selling the defective equipment from a white van.
On March 4, 2016, Members of the Kapuskasing detachment located, arrested and charged the male suspects. Police have seized approximately $10 000.00 in Canadian currency as well as several defective stereo systems.
Axel-David BOTBOL, 30, from Montreal, Quebec and Jason KUNZ, 33, from Kirkland, Quebec were each charged with the following offences;
Two counts of Fraud Under $5000 contrary to section 380(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) (CC)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) (CC)
Both males were released on a Recognizance of Bail and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on April 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. to answer to the charges.
