TURCOTTE – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON)- On May 2, 2016, at 7:25 p.m., members of the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Regional Road 80, in the City of Greater Sudbury.

During the traffic stop, it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. As a result of the investigation, Caroline TURCOTTE, 27 years of age, from Moonbeam Township, was arrested and charged with the following:

Driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code

Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle she was operating was impounded for seven (7) days.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury, on May 25, 2016, to answer to her charges.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol or drug consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
