(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a crash on Queen Street in Omemee early September 13, 2016.
A parked vehicle was damaged when a second vehicle lost control. No vehicle occupants were at the scene of the crash upon police arrival.
Through investigation, the driver, 28 year old Troy SPRAGUE of Omemee, has been charged with the following offences:
Careless Driving contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
Fail to Remain contrary to section 200(1)(a) HTA
Fail to Report Accident contrary to section 199(1) HTA
Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent contrary to section 335(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) CCC (two counts)
The accused has been held for a bail hearing and will appear in Lindsay court this morning.
