Trevor BURTCH – Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment has charged a 37 year old male with several Criminal Code offences after investigating an assault at a Hwy #6, Haldimand County, ON address.

On Thursday July 24th, 2014 at approximately 5:10 pm a Nissan pickup truck was observed driving in a dangerous manner at a 4th Line Road, Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation business. The business Security Guard followed after the Nissan pickup in attempts to identify the vehicle and occupants when he was able to catch up to it at 4th Line and Hwy #6, Haldimand County, ON.

A verbal altercation occurred between the Security Guard and driver of the Nissan pickup truck which turned physical. The Security Guard sustained a serious injury as a result of being struck with an edged weapon. The driver of the Nissan pickup truck then fled the scene.

The Security Guard was subsequently transported to a hospital where he received treatment for his injury.

As a result of a Police investigation 37 year old Trevor BURTCH of Hamilton, ON has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle while Disqualified. He is to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga, ON at a later date to answer to the charges.
