(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On October 20, 2014, just before 1:30 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Toyota Corolla for a speeding infraction on Highway 401 westbound near Drake Side Road.
Subsequent OPP traffic investigation revealed that there were open containers of liquor in the vehicle.
The 19 year old driver, Bilawal ABBAS, from Windsor, was charged with Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and Driving Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
Two passengers, 22 year old Syed HASAN, from Keswick, and 22 year old Waseem ABBAS, from Brampton, were charged with Having Liquor In Open Container In Other Than Licenced Premises, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
