TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING AND DRUG CHARGES

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – On February 9, 2014 at around 3:00 a.m, Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a Buick vehicle on Rotary Road. While speaking with the driver it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages. Subsequent tests indicated that the driver, 23 year old Kevin DOWNIE from Warwick Township was over the legal limit. Further investigation led to the seizure of an undisclosed amount of suspected marihuana. He will appear in a Sarnia court on February 24, 2014 to answer to the charges of being over the legal limit and possession of a controlled substance. He was also issued a Provincial Offence Notice (PON) for driving a motor vehicle with open liquor.
