TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

(THAMES CENTRE, ON)- On Monday September 30, 2013 at 10:41 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Enforcement Team (HET) conducted a traffic stop on the westbound lanes of HWY 401 at Dorchester Road, for a traffic related offence. During the course of the traffic stop police located a quaintly of drugs.

As a result of an investigation police have charged the driver Justin BANKS, age 19 of Tillsonburg, ON with:

Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg as per Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis resin – over 1gram as per Section 4(1) of the CDSA

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in a London Court room on November 8 2013 to speak to the charges.
