Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On December 14, 2014, just after 8:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge pickup truck on Highway 401 westbound, near Merlin Road, for a speeding violation.

Subsequent OPP investigation led to the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana from the vehicle.

As a result, both occupants of the vehicle have been charged. The driver, 41 year old Daniel BOYKO, from Stevensville, ON, has been charged with Speeding and Possession of Marihuana. The passenger, 42 year old Malcolm CHURCHILL, from Hamilton, has been charged with Possession of Marihuana.

Both are scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on February 5, 2015, to answer to the charges.
