With St. Clair Street in Chatham currently under construction, the Chatham-Kent police have received several complaints of speeding vehicles on alternate streets as motorists try to avoid the area.
Yesterday, officers conducted radar enforcement on Victoria Avenue. In just a couple hours, the officers issued 5 speeding tickets to motorists traveling between 72km-78km in a posted 50km/h zone.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind everyone to obey the speed limits on all city streets.
