(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver being charged and the vehicle being towed from the scene.
On January 10, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed as it was passing several other vehicles on Highway 35 near River Road. The vehicle was being operated at 143 km/h at the time and was subsequently stopped by the officer.
As a result of the investigation the driver, John FORSYTHE, 43 years of age, of Lindsay, was charged with racing a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was seized for 7 days and was towed from the scene.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on March 11, 2014.
