Tractor Trailer Backs Into Car

(IROQUOIS FALLS) – The Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a two vehicle collision which occurred on Main Street in the town of Iroquois Falls, on Thursday, October 31st.

OPP responded to the scene of the collision to find significant damage to a 2010 Toyota Corolla passenger vehicle.

The driver of a 2007 Kenworth tractor trailer unit had allegedly backed into the passenger vehicle.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.

As a result, the driver of the tractor trailer, Marcel LANTHIER, 55, of Kapuskasing, has been charged with Start From Parked Position – Not In Safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The OPP reminds all motorists that distracted driving remains a causal factor in a high number of preventable collisions.

Quite often, this incident being no exception, the outcome can be costly.
