Tortoise, Lemur And A Black Gibbon Stolen From Zoo

(SPRINGWATER TWP, ON) On May 29th, 2018 members of the Huronia West OPP responded to a Break and Enter at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo in Springwater Township. The suspect(s) stole 3 animals including an 18 inch tortoise, a black and white Lemur and a black Gibbon monkey. (see attached pictures). The value of the stolen animals is over $20 000.

The initial investigation has revealed the suspect(s) entered the zoo sometime between 10pm on May 28th and 6:30am on May 29th. The suspect(s) entered the zoo by cutting a hole in the fence which could have been observed by vehicles travelling on County Road 27 in Springwater Township. After cutting a hole in the chain link fence, the suspect(s) walked through the flamingo pond corral and gained access to the stolen animals after that.
