Toddler Located

(NORWICH TWP, ON) -Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence east of Norwich on September 28, 2014 to a report of a missing child around 7:22 p.m. last night.

Brant County OPP actively searched the rural area and are utilized many OPP specialty services in an attempt to locate the child. Resources included members from Norfolk and Oxford OPP, OPP Emergency Response Teams (ERT), the OPP helicopter and K-9 services.

Just after 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, 2-year-old Brooklyn HONDERICH was located in a bean field adjacent to the property. She was taken to a local area hospital by paramedics for precautionary measures.

“The OPP would like to thank all the volunteers and other police services who attended to assist with the search. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone that offered their assistance. We had over 200 volunteers, several companies and individuals that offered their help and it was truly appreciated. Thank you to everyone in and around the Oxford, Brant and Norfolk communities that brought this incident to a successful conclusion”, comments Inspector Dave Durant, Brant County OPP Detachment Commander.
