(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Saturday, December 13, 2014 at approximately 1:45 p.m., members of Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check at the intersection of Grey Road 31 and the 10th Concession in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
A Dodge Dakota pick-up truck approached the R.I.D.E. spot check and upon speaking with the lone driver of the vehicle, the officer detected a strong odor of marihuana and had observed a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance, believed to be marihuana, as well as other drug paraphernalia, in the centre console of the vehicle. A second baggie, which had been wrapped in a child’s blanket, was seized from the back seat of the vehicle.
Timothy Christopher LEWIS, age 27, of Wasaga Beach, was charged with possession of marihuana – over 30 grams, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on January 29, 2015.
