Three Stunt Drivers Charged In Perth County – KLESSENS, JOY & McCALLUM

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Stunt driving has no place on the road way and places all members of the public at unnecessary and considerable risk.

On January 17, 2019, a members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County Detachment were out in full force, actively and purposefully reducing the amount of distracted and inattentive drivers. Three vehicles were found to be travelling in excess of fifty kilometres over the posted speed limit and were stopped by police.

Wilhelmus KLESSENS, 65-years-old, of the Municipality of Huron East was charged with Race a motor vehicle-excessive speed.

Nived JOY, 20-years-old, of the City of London was charged with Race a motor vehicle-excessive speed.

Sylvia McCALLUM, 22-years-old, of the Township of Perth East was charged with Race a motor vehicle-excessive speed.

All 3 driver’s had a 7 day licence suspension imposed and the motor vehicles they were driving were towed for a 7 day impoundment.

The drivers are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on a later date to speak to the charge.
