(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) –Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested three impaired drivers at three separate locations over the weekend.
On 9 October 2015 at approximately 8:30 p.m. OPP were alerted to a 2008 Honda pick-up truck and performed a traffic stop on Highway #24 south of Highway #403. OPP arrested and charged Erik WHITE a 24-year old from the City of Brantford for driving a motor vehicle over 80mgs of alcohol under the Criminal Code of Canada.
On 10 October 2015 at approximately 3:20 a.m. OPP were conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Highway # 24 at Glen Morris Road in the County of Brant. Police stopped a 2006 Chrysler Sebring and arrested and charged Thla LIAN a 22-year-old male from Kitchener for driving a motor vehicle over 80mgs of alcohol under the Criminal Code of Canada.
On 11 October 2015 at approximately 2:20 a.m. OPP were conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Cockshutt Road in the County of Brant. OPP stopped a Chevrolet GM4 pick-up truck. Police arrested and charged M-Dean THOMAS a 59-year-old male from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
All three individuals will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to their charges.
County of Brant OPP also stopped 2 other vehicles while conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) over the weekend and issued 2 driving suspensions for driving with alcohol levels between 50 mgs of alcohol and the legal limit.
