(KENORA, ON) Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime and Enforcement Bureau-Kenora Drug Unit (OCEB), in partnership with the Treaty Three Police, members of the Kenora OPP Detachment, Kenora Street Crime Unit, OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau and OPP K9 Unit, have charged three people with drug related charges following an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the City of Kenora.
On Thursday, November 10, 2016 shortly after 10:30 am, as a result of an ongoing investigation, police conducted a vehicle stop on a mini-van on Highway 17 near Dogtooth Lake, east of Kenora. Two men and a woman were arrested and searched at the scene and found to be in possession of 33.8 grams of Methamphetamine, Canadian Currency and other items associated with the drug trafficking trade. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be around $10,000.00.
As a result of this investigation, Police have charged the following people:
28 year old Clayton COUSINEAU of Red Lake, Ontario has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Other Drugs s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
He has been held in custody for a bail hearing on November 14, 2016.
34 year old Wilfred GALVIN of Dryden, Ontario has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Other Drugs s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000- s. 354(1) (a) Criminal Code (CC).
He has been held in custody for a bail hearing on November 14, 2016.
20 year old Kerry ASSIN (female) of Kenora, Ontario has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Other Drugs s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Fail to Comply with Probation Order-s.733.1 (1) CC.
She is to appear in Kenora Court on December 8, 2016 to answer to the charges.
