Thomas GRUNDY – Hit And Run Involving Bodily Harm, Drive While Suspended, etc

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On August 3, 2015 at 4:12 am a collision was reported to The City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). The collision occurred on Highway 35 in the Pontypool area. One of the involved vehicles failed to remain at the scene of the crash.

One of the passengers in the vehicle that remained at the scene sustained a major injury, while the other occupants sustained minor injuries.

After an investigation the driver of the vehicle, Thomas GRUNDY, 48 years of age of Scarborough was identified and charged with the following offences:

Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Bodily Harm – 3 counts, contrary to section 252(1.2) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Take Motor Vehicle without Consent contrary to section 335(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Fail to Remain contrary to section 200(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act

Adult Interfere with Traffic contrary to section 170(12) of the Highway Traffic Act

Drive while under Suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 3, 2015.
