Thomas A. Chaffee – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – On December 14th, 2013 shortly before 2 am, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on general patrol in the Village of Bolton. The officers located a gray Chrysler 300 travelling eastbound on Allan Street following very closely behind a car in front of him. As a result, the officers conducted a vehicle stop to check on the driver’s sobriety. While speaking with the male driver, the officers detected that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested and transported to Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the traffic stop, Thomas A. Chaffee, 55, of Erin, was arrested and charged with Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 2, 2014.
