(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Monday August 26, 2013 around 4:30 a.m. a rural resident of Perth Line 55 south of Milverton called the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report theft from a vehicle.
The resident was awakened by the barking of the family dog. The resident looked out the window and observed a small two door grey car in the driveway. Two suspects were observed near the resident’s vehicle before leaving the scene.
Investigation revealed that the suspects removed a ladies purse from the unlocked vehicle before speeding off in the small grey car down the long laneway. The resident was unable to provide a direction of travel on Perth Line 55 as the laneway is tree lined and has tall corn on both sides obscuring visibility from the residence.
All residents, even rural homeowners are urged to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from inside.
Anyone with information about this theft is requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
