On the 14th of January, 2014 members of the WRPS Criminal Investigations Branch, in conjunction with the York Regional Police Service 2 Division CIB and the Peterborough-Lakefield Police Service, arrested a 25 year old Concord, Ontario male in relation to twelve (12) thefts of high end engagement rings, inlcuding two thefts and an attempted theft in Waterloo Region. A search warrant was executed at his address and evidence was obtained in support of the case. The accused will appear in a Richmond Hill, Ontario court tomorrow to answer to charges in that jurisdiction with charges in numerous otehr jurisdictions to follow. The estimated total of the thefts exceeds $300,000.

On Sept. 16, 2013 at approximately 2:15pm, an unidentified male entered the Charm Diamond Centre located at 550 King St. N. in Conestoga Mall. The male asked to look at engagement rings and while he was looking at them, he quickly ran out of the store with the property still in his possession. The male was observed exiting the mall and getting into a red car and driving off. Shortly after, 2 males were observed exiting a red car and getting into a small tan or silver vehicle.
