(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON.) – Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a local man with several criminal offences. The charges stem from the theft of two motor vehicles in separate incidents. The first theft occurred during the evening hours on April 24, 2014 at a Kirkland Lake business involving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck blue in colour. The vehicle was recovered later that day in Chaput Hughes.
The second incident involved the theft of a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer grey in colour from a residence located on Toburn Road in Kirkland Lake. This incident occurred during the early morning hours on April 25, 2014. This vehicle was recovered later on the same day in Kirkland Lake. The subsequent investigation into both thefts led to the arrest of the accused.
Charged with two counts of Theft Over $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 is Robert LEBLANC age 42 of Chaput Hughes, Ontario. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on May 29, 2014.
