Theft Of Firewood Results In Charges

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On March 14, 2017 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of firewood in the Township of Chatsworth resulting in the arrest of a Walter’s Falls man.

42-year old Patrick CONWAY, of Walter’s Falls, was charged with theft under $5000 and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Investigation revealed that the accused attended the victim’s property and was observed loading firewood into his pick-up truck. The suspect left after being confronted by the victim but returned a short time later to collect more firewood. When police attended the accused’s residence to speak to him regarding the theft, he made threats towards the victim, which resulted in his arrest. The two men are known to each other.

CONWAY is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on April 13, 2017.
