(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating the theft of fuel from a Fernlea Side Road, Middleton, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Sunday, January 25, 2015 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to damage the locks on fuel tanks located on the property. Unknowns then removed approximately 400 gallons of diesel fuel from the storage tanks.
Businesses and farms with large fuel storage should make sure pumps and the access to the storage tanks are secured with heavy duty locks. If the location is isolated and unsupervised for long periods of time, consider installing lights and security cameras.
