THEFT OF COPPER WIRING CREATES PUBLIC SAFETY CONCERN

(INGERSOLL, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to theft of copper wire that occurred at various locations around Ingersoll overnight, Sunday October 19 and October 20, 2014.

The suspect(s) cut sections of copper wire and removed it from the locations.

The approximate value of six feet of copper wire is approximately $10.

There is a potential risk to public safety involved as the wires left in the ground have the potential of becoming charged and could electrocute anyone who touches them.

The investigation is continuing.
