(Collingwood and The Blue Mountains, Ontario) Auxiliary officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in conjunction with the local Salvation Army, held a thankgiving food drive this last weekend in Collingwood.
On Sunday October 6, 2013 Auxiliary officers were at Sobey’s, Walmart, Metro and Loblaw stores collecting non perishable food items and cash donations for our local food bank. In total, over $1,400 in cash donations and approximately 3,000 pounds of food were collected during this event.
We would like thanks the generosity all those that donated to this worthy cause and in doing so, ensured that families/people that utilize the food bank will have support from the Salvation Army.
