Thamesville Man Charged with Multiple Driving Offences

A Thamesville man faces multiple charges resulting from a traffic stop yesterday afternoon.

At 2:20 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Richmond Street in Chatham because a passenger in a car was not wearing a seatbelt. The investigation revealed that the driver was prohibited from driving Canada-wide as a result of previous criminal driving. He was also serving two provincial licence suspensions.

Driving While Disqualified

Driving While Under Suspension (two counts)

The vehicle that belonged to his girlfriend was impounded for 90 days in accordance with Ontario’s vehicle impoundment program. The passenger was also charged with not wearing a seatbelt.
