Ridgetown Man Charged with Multiple Driving Offences

A Ridgetown man faces multiple charges resulting from a traffic stop yesterday afternoon.

At about 12:30 p.m. an officer stopped a car on Forest Street in Chatham because the licence plates were not registered to the car they were affixed to. Further investigation revealed that the owner had not registered the car, the validation sticker was stolen, and the car was not insured.

A 35-year-old Ridgetown man has been charged with:

Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle
Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on Highway – No Insurance
Use Validation Not Furnished for Vehicle
Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming the Owner of a Motor Vehicle

The licences plates were seized and the car was towed from the road.
