At the 03April2018 North Huron council meeting Blyth and East-Wawanosh councillors declared they were not going to allow any more money to be spent on renovating or maintaining anything in Wingham, from Howson Dam to the Museum building. The Museum is now closed and steps to move or sell the collection of artifacts have begun, the building will be given away (or sold) in about a year under the pretext that it will cost $4 million to repair due to decades of neglect.
