(ST.MARYS, ON) On Saturday morning, July 24, 2011, around 3 a.m., a Perth County OPP officer on patrol in St.Marys observed four youths at the intersection of Church St. North and Queen St. East.
The officer spoke to the youths to find out what they were doing walking around the downtown and to determine their ages with regards to the provincial curfew. One of the males was found to be thirteen, two were fourteen and one was fifteen years of age. The four youths were apprehended since they were under the age of sixteen, and were out in a public place between midnight and 6 a.m. without an authorized responsible adult present. The parents of the four boys were subsequently contacted by police.
The Perth County OPP would like to remind the residents of St.Marys and all of Perth County that the provincial curfew legislation which falls under the authority of the provincial Child and Family Services Act will be enforced within the county.
