(LAKESHORE, ON)—The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Lakeshore was on routine patrol on Essex County Road 22 in Lakeshore when an officer observed three motor vehicles travelling westbound at a high rate of speed.
It took the officer a significant distance to catch up to the three vehicles but he eventually did at a red light at Commercial Boulevard and Essex County Road 22.
A sixteen year old as well as two seventeen year old males from Lakeshore, were charged with Stunt Driving under the Highway Traffic Act. All three had their vehicles impounded for 7 days.
The OPP is committed to protecting Ontarians from individuals who choose to engage in street racing, driving contests or driving stunts. Drivers who are involved in street racing or aggressive-driving behaviours can face tough sanctions such as vehicle impoundment and fines from $2000-$10000.
