(CALEDON, ON) On Thursday, March 31, 2016 an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was stationary on Highway 10 when he observed a black GMC pick-up truck travel through a red light at the intersection of Highway 10 and Olde Baseline Road.
As a result of the traffic violation, the officer conducted a traffic stop with the pick-up truck. While speaking to the driver, the officer observed an alcoholic beverage readily available to the driver. Due to the infraction under the Liquor Licence Act, a search of the vehicle was conducted.
Further investigation into items located within the vehicle led to the driver, Robert Lawrence ROWLEY, 39, of Angus to be charged with the following offences: Red Light- Fail to Stop, Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available, Driving While Under Suspension, Possess Illegal Licence, Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine. He was held for a bail hearing that was scheduled on April 1, 2016.
In addition, the 22 year old female passenger, Mallory Elizabeth DUGGAN, of Barrie was also was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance Cocaine. She is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on May 9, 2016.
