Suspended Driver Caught Twice In 15 Days

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On December 7, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m., police observed a northbound vehicle on Causley Street then turn northbound on Laborne Street. A traffic stop was initiated. Investigation determined the driver was suspended. This same driver was charged for driving while suspended on November 22, 2016, in Blind River.

As a result of both investigations Danielle LAFRANCE, 26 years of age, from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with two counts of Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on January 18, 2017.
