Suspended Driver Caught Going 139 in an 80

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) -On Thursday August 3, 2017 at 5:02 p.m., a Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a northbound, red 1996 Cadillac that appeared to be operating above the speed limit on 6 Highway between Limberlost Road and Hardmans Lane, in the Township of South Bruce Peninsula. The vehicle was locked in at 139 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone.

A 22-year-old driver from Tobermory, Ontario, has been charged with race a motor vehicle and two counts of driving while under suspension. Police seized and impounded the vehicle for seven days and his driver’s licence has been suspended for 7 days. He is scheduled to appear at the Owen Sound Court of Justice on August 28, 2017 to answer to the charge.
