(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On February 12, 2016 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2005 Dodge Ram pick-up truck after the vehicle had passed an unmarked OPP cruiser travelling southbound on Hwy. 10 in the Township of Chatsworth during poor weather/road conditions.
The driver of the pick-up truck was found to be suspended from driving for medical reasons. He was also on conditions not occupy the front seat of any motor vehicle or operate or have care or control of a motor vehicle as a result of previous criminal code driving offences.
47-year old Gary Robert BARWICK of the Municipality of Grey Highlands was charged with breach of recognizance under the Criminal Code, driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act, and operate a motor vehicle with no insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
BARWICK was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for February 16, 2016.
