(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a Township of Georgian Bluffs man with several sex offences following an internet luring investigation.
On February 12, 2016, Grey County OPP received a complaint of a male sending inappropriate messages and photographs over the internet. As a result of the investigation, 22-year old Eric Allen GIBBONS of the Township of Georgian Bluffs was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
– Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication (3 counts)
– Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age (1 count)
– Transmit sexually explicit material to person under 16 years of age (4 counts)
– Sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age (3 counts)
GIBBONS was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for February 16, 2016.
Police have identified four victims. Investigators would like to speak with any individuals that may have had interactions with the accused. Anyone with information which may assist police is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
