(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Two separate vehicle stops conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have resulted in the drivers facing stunt driving charges.
On October 11, 2014 an officer observed a vehicle travelling at 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Kelvin Rock Road near Highway 35 and subsequently stopped the vehicle. The driver, Lucie FOURNIER, 53 years of age, of Toronto, was charged with stunt driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). The driver’s licence was seized and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 18, 2014.
On October 13, 2014 a vehicle was observed travelling at 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 35 near Bandorie Lane in the former Laxton-Digby-Longford Township area, within the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Zeming DAI, 23 years of age, of London, is a novice driver. His driver’s licence was seized and the vehicle was towed from the scene. DAI is charged with stunt driving, contrary to the HTA and will appear in court, in Lindsay, on December 9, 2014.
